What's the right way to brew Folger's coffee?

I haven't made coffee in years, and the directions created a God awful coffee.

It told me twelve tablespoons!

I don't have the scoop from the canister, so it's annoying. :[

I was told three to seven tablespoons by other people though.

Which is right?

  1. To measure out the coffee grounds, the standard is 2 Tbsp. for every six ounce cup of coffee or 1 1/4 cup of ground coffee for each 10 cup pot, but you should adjust it to your own personal tastes. Experiment until you are satisfied. Do not use too little coffee as overextraction of the grounds can lead to bitter coffee.

Add a very small amount of salt to the grounds - a few grains per cup. This will help avoid bitterness in the coffee. Too much will make the coffee taste salty.

Measure cold water, according to the amount of coffee grounds you used, using the lines on the coffee pot. It is very important that the water is cold. If water has a disagreeable odor or is particularly hard, remember that whatever you put in the coffee machine will end up in the pot. It is best to use filtered or bottled water.

    Good Luck!

  2. We use 1/4 cup per 6 cups of coffee. (line 6) For a full pot, use 1/2 cup. It'll come out perfect every time!

EDIT: Do not listen to momo, that is wayyyyyyyyyyy too much!!

  3. 1. Take your can of folgers

    2. Throw it in the garbage

    3. Buy some decent coffee

    4. Use 1 tablespoon of coffee / 8 oz. water (2 Tbsp / 6 oz. if you like strong coffee).

  4. The standard is 2 tablespoons per 6oz, but if you don't like strong coffee, go with 1 tablespoon per 6 oz.

Folger's coffee is horrible and bitter, so there's another reason to why it tastes bad. Pre-ground coffee is old, expired, and bitter.
