Any investment that you enter without having a plan. Especially an exit plan, preferably backed up by stop loss orders.

If you do not have a plan, you are not investing but gambling. And most gamblers lose.

Vegas is not investment to me.  So if the riskiest investment pays the biggest reward, then the riskiest would be any "get rich" scheme.  Anything that pretends to pay "big rewards" will have "big risks".  Futures are pretty risky, too and they can pay big rewards.  It would be risky to try to start new industry, like Richard Branson with his flights to outter space.  He may win big, but he may lose big too.
