  1. Plain and simple the middle lane is the safest.

  2. I wouldn't say there is "safest" highway lane because anything can occur in three highway lanes. But since you can get minor or little damage by reducing speed, I am assuming the right lane is the safest.

  3. I would say the middle lane for several reasons. You have two avenues of escape should an emergency situation arise. There's no merging traffic in the middle lane. In the left lane, you're most likely traveling faster, and tailgating is far more prevalent - two situations that can lead to accidents.

In addition to dealing with merging traffic in the right lane, you frequently encounter slower-moving traffic, meaning more lane changing.

Although there is no totally safe lane, the middle lane has the fewest potential hazards.

  4. I would guess the right lane because you always have the berm to use for an escape route.

  5. the middle lane is probably the safest so you can easily go to eaither lane. so whatever situation comes your way you have access to anyone, stay a good distance, follow the signs you will be ok. good luck. more accident prone i would think all the idiots in the FAST line trying to go beyond the speed limit and pass everyone up.

  6. LEFT LANE! 100% sure! If says in the highway code 2007. All drivers should drive on the left lane, except overtaking or turning.
