  1. Those are similar in the fact that you can record digital material on them. You can record songs, computer files, or any type of video off the computer.

    The area that is important is how they are different. A compact disk recordable is a CD that you can only record to this once. That is it. No way to erase the information without destroying the CD. The CD-RW or compact disk read write is one that you have not only the ability to record onto it, but you can erase the information and re-record to it.
