What's the solution to this star-shaped 3D wooden puzzle? Seems fixed in place...?

It's made of interlocking wooden pieces which don't seem to move in any direction.

Anyone know how to get it to seperate? (And then put it back together again).

Tried:

* Pushing something into the middle to prise apart

* Pulling really hard

* Twisted hard

* Prising up the corner of one piece

I'm sure it's something really simple I'm missing and some smart person will know the answer!

1 of the central pieces slide out... gently pull from 4 edges and it will fall apart

   Twist the movable part until the central 'king' piece pulls out...it's in two!!!!!
