Some say it's slightly less than that of Light's and some say that it's more than that of Light's. And some agree that it's not even more than that of Sound's. So, what exactly is the Speed of an Electric Current??

  1. Although your light turns on very quickly when you flip the switch, and you find it impossible to flip off the light and get in bed before the room goes dark, the actual drift velocity of electrons through copper wires is very slow. It is the change or "signal" which propagates along wires at essentially the speed of light.

  2. electric current speed depends upon the pd applied across its ends. ny ways its 6*10 exp 18 in a second.
