  1. The strongest magnets available are rare earth magnets. These are the ones that happen to be used in speakers and other electronic equipment. You can buy one that has hundreds of pounds of pull, but I don't recommend it. If it gets anywhere near a metal object, they will be pulled together and crush anything in between. You can seriously hurt yourself. These magnets are not very expensive and sources can be found on the internet with a google search. I have bought smaller magnets myself and they are fun. A 33-lb pull magnet will hold itself up on a refrigerator with your fingers in between. If you put two of these magnets together, they are VERY hard to separate (my experience).I have a couple of 67-lb magnets that I am now afraid to remove from their packaging for fear that if they get close together and connect, I won't be able to get them apart. Seriously. So be forewarned. The link below is a site that I didn't buy mine from, but it has a wealth of information, including safety issues and size recommendations. Check it out before you purchase. For that site, if you click on the item number it will tell you all the specifics about it, including the pull force. Good luck and have fun.

  2. Depends how much money you have.  How about a superconductor?

Seriously, though, the strongest magnet I have was removed from the back of a stereo speaker.

  3. Check this site

Rare earth magnets at affordable prices.  I have bought several from them.  Also known as NIB magnets which stands for neodymium-iron-boron, the elements used to make them.

  4. Rare Earth Magnets !!!

    really fun

look for them from a science supply store
