  1. vortex

  2. It is WIngtip Vortices.

Wake turbulence, as a couple of others have answered, is a generic term, of which WIngtip Vortices are part of.

  3. Wake Turbulance

  4. Airplanes produce two spiral air currents from the wingtips.  These are called "wingtip vortices."

Large aircraft produce really large vortices, and often other forms of turbulence, especially at low speeds.  These can be strong enough to make landings and takeoffs hazardous for smaller aircraft following closely.

The general term for this effect is "wake turbulence."

  5. jet wash?
