What's the theme (main message) to Farewell to Manzanar?

I have read the book. but i dont really know what it is. i have looked online to see what the "theme" is and they give me some weird stuff. what i need is basically the main message of the book. please please help me!! D=

  1. The theme is racism. Because of their ancestry, the government branded the Wakatsukis as enemies even though they were American citizens. Without a fair trial, due process was violated. They lost their home, their valuables, and their respect.
