What's the time period to file an injury report for an injury that happened on the job?

My brother injured his back on the job. First day of work, was urged to disregard safety procedures and now they want him to wait until Monday to file an accident report. The injury happened yesterday 'Thursday'.

Tell him to file the report yesterday.

Make sure he gets a report from everyone that saw what happened.

If the company don't want to work with him make sure he call an Attorney.
