What's the tone in A Prayer for Owen Meany?

i'm doing a literay analysis for school and we have to describe the tone that the author has...and i'm having a hard time figuring out what it is...

Well that's an interesting question.

In Owen Meany there is something of a old-fashioned tone, and a nostalgic sentimentality. You can't answer this question of yours without writing about the strong religious and spiritual themes in the book.
