  1. well for all of my hamster stuff it costs me between 70-100$ if you pick out quality things.

  2. The initial cost can be anywhere between $50-$100 depending on what you get. When I first got my gerbils, I spent about $100 on the things they needed. Then, the monthly cost of caring for gerbils after that initial cost is probably under $20 depending on what you get.

Please keep in mind that gerbils are social animals. They should be kept in same s*x pairs. Either two males or two females will be fine in pairs as long as the cage/tank is large enough to house both of them comfortably. For a pair, I'd recommend a 15-20 gallon tank. 10 gallons is okay, but not ideal. You'll find that after you add things in, they don't have much room to run around and play. Lone gerbils tend to live shorter, less healthy lives. Two isn't much more work than one. In fact, one may be more work because you have to find more time to spend with it. No matter how much time you spend with a lone gerbil, though, it doesn't make up for the fact that it must sleep alone, groom itself, and play with itself when you're not around.

If you have any other questions, feel free to e-mail me. I'd be glad to help answer them.

  3. I paid about 50 bucks all together, for two. That includes, the gerbils, cage, water bottle, bedding for at least a month, food for at least a month, treats, chew toys and their closed in wheel (cause they shouldnt have the wheel with the gaps because their tail gets stuck)  But it depends on what you want to get it! I went a little overboard cause i love my gerbils!

  4. usually around $15 from what i've seen
