Canada is just made up of so many cultures and nationalities, that there is no real "Canadian" food - it can range from perogies to bannock, poutine to salmon, maple syrup to fish stew, saskatoon berry pie to lobster.

That's one of the amazing things about living here!

  5. The US is a really BIG country.  We have many regions, all with their own food traditions and habits.

In the american south, where I'm from, the most "traditional" meal would probably be fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, greens (mustard greens are my favorite!), a slice of tomato, with iced tea to drink.

It really does depend on where you are at, though.  Even in different areas of the south, we fry our chicken different (some use flour, others use corn flour.)

I've also lived in the mid-Atlantic region of the country, the state of Maryland.  There, the most "traditional" meal would be a huge table full of steamed crabs, with several beers to wash them down with.

  6.
