I like to make my own. I add imprints and I do tint with Quikrete brand Cement Coloring. I've tried adding rebar and have even used Quikrete brand Concrete Acrylic Fortifier, yet they begin crumbling after only one year. Any advice?

  1. talk to a builder, your concrete mix could be wrong, get the proportions right.  Too much of one thing, too little of another everything crumbles

  2. most concrete u buy in a store like lowes will not give u the psi u need.......standard concrete pour in 3000 psi.....build the forms for the steps and call ur concrete company nearest to u and tell them if they have any left over concrete or a no pour that u will take it......i get left over concrete at about 10.00 per yrd when they have left overs.....and yes u need to add the rebar or fiber or wire.....

  3. Assuming your mix is correct, are you making

them thick enough to stand frost stresses?
