A coin dealer would probably sell a 1964 half for around $7.00 in mint-state condition, but isn't likely to pay more than $3 or $4 if you offered it to him.  Of course, as the price of silver goes up, the value of this coin will also rise since 1964 was the last year the half-dollar was 90% silver.  You should keep it for now, because it's not likely to become LESS valuable.
