Question:

What's the volume of the earth's core?

I tried calculating it but none of my answers are matching the choices i've been given: A. 1.02 times 10 to the 11th power, B. the same number but to the 20th power, C. 1.75 times 10 to the 11th power and D. 1.75 times 10 to the 20th power.

  1. You can figure this just from the volume of a sphere formula:

    volume= 4/3(pi r ^3).

    f you know how far down the core is/how wide it is.  Earth's inner core has a radius of 1220 km.  Just plug in and you're golden.

    You might wanna see how teh formula's written out, since PEMDAS may foul you up otherwise.
