  1. In the tropics and sometimes down South we get torriental rain The tropics only have 2 seasons ,The wet and the dry. It is dry season now until the start of the build up[ hot and sticky] around oct nov many areas flood normally about xmas to March. it can go for years in some parts of the desert out back areas with out rain. This year has been good and lakes that have been dry for years have filled up. Along the lower east and west coast there is a mixed amount of rain from drizzle to wind blowing rain . We don't get a lot of rain as Australia is known to be a very dry  country and many areas get water restrictions. Where I am on The Gold Coast Our dam is full . 1hour up the road in Brisbane there dams are only at 40 %

  2. Depends where you are.  Rainfall is different everwhere...  That is like asking what the weather is like in Europe.  (You do realise that three european countries will fit into the space of Queensland alone?)  Yes - the centre of Australia is basically desert.  For weather details have a look at this site... http://www.bom.gov.au/

  3. Generally it's wetter on the south and west.

See a climate map on this webpage...

...and links to the Bureau of Meteorology where you can see current forecasts for Australian cities.
