What's the weather like on la Riviera Maya (Mexico) in September?

Question

I don't mind spending a few days in a tropical storm but I'd go elsewhere in Mexico if la Riviera Maya is likely to provide me with 15 days of solid rain so any informed opinions welcome.

I love that area in September. It's still hot. It's always hot there. Expect some mild showers because of the humidity but I wouldn't change travel plans. Overall, it's going to be great.

No, it will not rain all day, every day.  September is at the tail end of the rainy season, so you may hit some days when the heat of the day will cause the gather in the afternoon and then it will rain for an hour or two. And then it will be cooler in the evening.  If you see big clouds forming and getting dark, then you can go to a bar for happy hour or to a restaurant for dinner and then it should be clear when you come out.
