Just my two cents...

I hope "the Next Big Thing" Brock Lesnar isn't just hype. He has the raw talent to dominate in the UFC but he's still very weak with his ground skills. I saw many opportunities for him to choke Herring out but I guess he wanted to show the world that he's been blessed with those bricks he calls hands.

As far as his attitude goes...hopefully he turns it down one or two notches or he'll start to loose respect. It's great to see him go nuts after the win and he deserves it. But he isn't sitting on top of the UFC heavyweight ladder just yet.

  1. He is just hype. If he was worth his salt he would have ended that fight right after he hit Herring the first time. He didn't. Because, he doesn't know how to fight. He doesn't have any respect. He never earned any. He will have to fight someone who isn't washed up for him to even have a chance at any respect in the UFC or from it's fans. He didn't even do any damage once herring was on the ground. Lesnar looked like a fish out of water.  Dana White should let Randy Couture tap him out.

  2. Kongo most likely. I really cannot see this guy beating Big Nog though, but he will get a title shot soon, but he will be one of the best heavyweights in the UFC. Now if they still had Arlovski, Couture, Rizzo and signed Fedor, he would be fresh meat

  3. Yes he will more than likely fight Cheick Kongo next. It'll probably be in 2months or right around there................

  4. He will probably fight Cheick Kongo next

  5. I think he was fighting a safe fight. I don't think we went for chokes because maybe he was afraid he would get caught in something. His strategy was perfect. He is not the best heavyweight but who knows. With his size and talent he very well could be in the future.

  6. The rumor is Kongo.

I was impressed with the fact that he did improve, but lets face it, he held Herring down more than he done anything.  He could have dropped a ton of more elbow and strikes on the ground to really get a good ground and pound style.

  7. OK here is the deal.  Kongo turned down fighting Lesnar before the Herring Lesnar fight was set.  Now that they both won.  UFC wants to put this together. It looks like this is all but signed for the december/january pay-per-view.

Also here's two cents:  Lesnar is incredibly green but a very promising fighter.  He just needed a win so he grinded it out.  He didnt want to take any chances and be too risky going for finshes.

Look at it from his stance:  The pressure is immense, he wanted to get in the W column.

and everyone who says Lesnar isn't professional or isn't worth it as a fighter.  Well he dominated herring for 3 rounds, at 285 pounds at fight time...he had the gas to go 3 rounds.  He looked great against Mir until he made a rookie mistake and got caught.  He has looked great for a rookie, the guy just started training last year ..

I'm not saying I liked his WWE stuff.  I'm just tired of "hardcore" mma fans talking trash about his antics or how unprofessional his interview was.  You know what 90% of MMA fans are casual and they LOVE good interviews and drama.  People pay to see that stuff and it makes the UFC more money and gets them better buyrates.  That in turn lets the UFC put on better shows and sign more fighters.  So love him or hate him.  Brock Lesnar is good for this sport.

  8. why not  gonzaga?

    why not  gonzaga?

    why not  gonzaga?

    why not  gonzaga?

    because ,

    he'd kill dana's  moneymaker

    not  that  lesnar  isn't  awesome...

he  can  beat lots of  guys in the  top  30 if it's  the  right  match up  for  him.

but gonzaga got his  nose  broken by a bad fall  with  couture  and  was  choking   on   blood but  still  managed to kick a  clean  break of  randys  ulna.

i dont see brock  improving  that  much any time  soon.

after a  while  though  guys  have  lots of    fights and  get  figured out.

even matt hugh's - they  may   get  brock  number soon..

  9. my tow cents worth.

    he is the real deal.

he may own the ufc heavy weight division if Noguierra and Mir weren't the top guys. The Ufc has a really really weak HW division. I am a UFC die hard fan but they lost a lot of talent.

My brother thought he would own the whole world until he saw Lesnars fight with Herring. He said if he doesn't learn to go for the kill when he has it He'll keep getting caught in more submissions. Also I wish people would shut up about the guguillotine choke. I have never seen anyone submit a guy with an arm in guguillotine against the cage.

he needs to tighten up his striking as well. He never would have hit Kongo, Silvia, Fedor or just about any top fighter for that matter.
