It seems pretty likely that he will go out on a win this season - hopefully - as he's been reported as saying he was wanting to retire in the last year or two, but held on for the chance to race the new 1098 (who wouldn't!)

from an Aussie paper where he says he's not finished with racing yet, and speculating where he's off to next - let's hope!What a geezer!!

he has announced that he will retire at the end of this season, he celebrated that announcment by winning both races at phillip island on the weekend

The last I heard was he was going to be out for three weeks.

Hi 51. its true he is finishing with WSBK at the end of this season (Self declaration) he says he wants to go back to OZ to be with his family. I don't know if he will still race. but he is a competitive person. he may not be able to help himself. though that could be road race / Motocross /supermoto / or pushbike as he is apparently proficient in all these. he will be missed on the world stage but I agree with everyone else about him going out a winner.
