What should I be concerned about if I am traveling to Bolivia - if I stay indoors and eat/cook my own food the whole time?

  1. Car bombs, Kidnapping, robbery, mugging. If your okay with that well....Good Luck!!!

  2. anything and everything

  3. People trying to break into your house.... it happened to me....Keep it well secured

  4. Why go there at all if you are just staying indoors and not see what is there to see in that country?

  5. It's not as safe as going to New Jersey!  Play it safe, stay in the States.

  6. Oh I suppose rebels who may kidnap a naive American and who keep you as a slave locked hopelessly away from any possible escape. And when you are done they set you on fire. Well, you DID ask. I mean Bolivia? Why?

  7. Bolivia is a beautiful country with an incredibly rich culture and people.  I had the opportunity to travel through there but didn´t see nearly as much as I wanted to.  And I don´t think you should stay indoors or eat your own food all the time!!  That will totally waste your experience.  Just don´t drink the water from the tap, boil it first or buy bottled water, and stay away from questionable street food.  Food is Bolivia is unbelievably cheap - you can get an entire meal (entree, main course, drink and dessert) for a total of US equivalent $2 and it is REALLY good.  Make sure to visit the cathedrals and theaters of La Paz, the salt mines, the jungle, and if you are daring enough - take a bike ride down the World´s Most Dangerous Road.  The only caution I would say is stay away from protests and bring extra food and water on bus trips in case you run into delays.  Have fun!!
