This is a local, family-owned restauraunt in a rural area. I went there, for the first time, tonight. But, it will definitely be my last time. The food was terrible (for me, anyway). I ordered a beef taco plate; it consisted of beef tacos (you get to choose anywhere from 1-3 tacos) (they used flour tortillas for the tacos); also, inc. fried rice and refried beans. The beans were the worst...they were too hard and tasted terrible. The rice was sticky and tasted bad, as well. The "tacos", if you want to call them that, had ground beef that had a weird taste to it, like marinated beef; overall, the tacos were horrible. The only good food there was our complimentary chips and picante sauce. They were good. The chips & salsa, along with my drink and some water I also ordered were the best thing I had to eat there. The service was great, though. Still, that's 1 rest. I'll never visit again. I don't give that place more than 1 year, if that long, before they close. I would not recommend it.

  1. im sorry for your bad experiense, i hope you fin a better place with mexican food.

  2. I've never been to a bad one..

But my favorite is El Rincon - Akron Ohio.

  3. los amigos in chatsworth Georgia they got a 5 (five) on their health inspection report and were shut down

  4. Oh dio mia!

My worst South of the Border dining experience was North of the Border (would you expect good Mexican in Canada?)

It was mediocre at best, the meat in the burritos was dry and tasted like it was seasoned with one of those pre packaged envelope mixes.

The worst was the Margaritas - they were like lime sherbet melted with bad tequila stirred in.  I have NEVER imagined, or wanted a CREAMY margarita!  ICK

  5. Oye Amigos in Marshall, Michigan.  The soft flour tortillas are served in a bowl drowing in butter -not lightly buttered which would be strange enough, but actually covered with melted butter.  The salsa cups have dried up crustly salsa on the rims.  The rice appears to be minute rice, water and a bit of ketchup.  The food is very bland.  The waitresses chain smoke even while they are serving you.  Unfortunately, it and Taco Bell are the only Mexican restaurants in town.

  6. Chi-Chi's anywhere or Compadres in Napa.  Baaaad Tex-Mex.  Even a taco truck is better than they are.  Well, taco trucks ARE great anyway.  So are little hole-in-the-wall restaurants around here but the food is authentic and not a chain.

  7. Taco Bell

  8. Chi Chi's ---- we found a COCKROACH in our food!  It was disgusting!
