  1. In simple words, most of the writers in hollywood who wrote tv shows or movies, are NOT getting any money when their material is on the air. Only the big guys like Paramount PIctures and others reap the benefits while the writers, the ones behind the entertainment, were only paid once and don't get any of that income that is coming in when people watch their material. And so they are on strike because they want a piece of that pie! Hope that answers your question.


  2. Look it up.

    Basically, as I remember, it is, or was, about royalties for publication other than TV or theatre - eg. videos and internet.  Studios were paying for them to write for one medium and then republishing in another without further royalties.

  3. It's over.  Move onto something else.
