What's the youngest a person can fly alone of a flight?

I've been flying alone for a long time, I'm 12 now. I think you have to be 7 or 8 or somewhere around there, but I'm not sure. You pay about $50 extra, and your parents walk you to the gate, and pick you up. The flight attendants check on you every once in awhile.

Without parent consent i think it's 16.

With the parent's consent I don't know any limit... I was 13 when I flew alone from Portugal, Europe, to NY.

But without the parent's consent I think it depends on the country's you fly from and to. In my country, Portugal, is 18.
