My Mom always told me that she had me and siblings potty trained by 2-2.5 yrs old. Is that typical, faster, or slower than most?

  1. It depends on the child, My son was 17 months old, but my daughter was 3.

  2. 2.5 and 2

  3. Faster than the average.  For girls it can be sooner around 2 1/2 to 3 years old but the average for boys is 3 1/2 to 4  years old.  The youngest would probably be 3 years old for a boy and I helped with my niece when she was 2 years old.  The thing about pottytraining is that some view it as if your child stays dry for 1-2 hrs that they are pottytrained but in reality they also need to be able to know they have to go and go themselves without the reminders.  If you have to constantly remind them to go then they aren't fully trained yet.  And of course their bladders are tiny so you can't expect a small child even if they are pottytrained not to have accidents if they don't have access to a bathroom.

  4. My son was potty trained by 15 months.  My daughter at 4 years!  All kids are different.

  5. It depends on the child really, the youngest I had my son potty trained was 2.5 but daughter 3.5 so.... just whenever they are ready

  6. My daughter was 2yrs old, my son was 3yrs old!!  :)

  7. 3 years, didnt rush it and only had minimal accidents

  8. It depend on your method of training and how fun you make it.  I training both of my girl by 13 months.

  9. My daughter, Carsyn was potty trained at 1 year, 11 months. So almost 2. And then the others were 2.5, 3, and 2. And I have four more to potty train! =D

  10. My boyfriend was potty-trained at a 1 1/2 when his sister who was 2 1/2 was trained and my parenting teacher said that she babysitted a 6 month old who was already potty-trained, but in that class we learned that sometimes it takes longer for some people because you don't have control of your muscles down there completely yet, but 2 or 2 1/2 is normal and fine. I also have a friend whos baby is about to be 2 in November and they haven't even started with him yet.

  11. my oldest - 20 months

    my middle - 2 1/2 yrs

my youngest - still working on it (almost 3)

    All girls
