I can't believe I forgot the name of the movie. It was so popular. There was a little girl that had mean parents, brother, and principle. One of the teachers was really nice, and became her mom at the end because they loved each other so much. The girl had these powers where she could do stuff like making a book come off the shelf and open by itself. I'm pretty sure someone will get this. 10 points for whoever gets this first! :)

  1. Matilda, seen that film about 50 times. It's based on the Roald Dahl book.

  2. Ah, the parents are Danny Devito and Rhea Perlman (Carla from Cheers), real-life couple. I  the little girl might've been the little girl from 'Miracle on 34th Street'.

Anyways, it's "Matilda". Remember back in the 90s when Americans kept buying the rights to produce British books into American films? This is one of them. ('The Borrowers' is another one.)

  3. Matilda :D 1 of my favorites!!  Ms Honey was fantastic!

  4. 2 girls 1 cup.

    I would google it...

  5. Matilda  I'm sure this is the movie you are talking about  The dad sold junky  car's and the principle was named miss trunch bowl  she was this really ugly guy looking girl. She was really mean! It had danny devito for the dad and his wife in really life played the mom. I hope this is it

  6. MATILDA!

She was adopted, and then went to a really bad school.

And her teacher ended up adopting her.

The principal was the teacher's aunt.

    Hope this helped.

  7. MATILDA, heres some details

Based on the book Matilda, by British children's author Roald Dahl, this film moves the setting from the U.K. to the U.S.; otherwise it follows the original closely. Matilda Wormwood (Mara Wilson) is an extremely curious and intelligent little girl who is very different from her low-brow, mainstream parents (Danny DeVito and real-life wife Rhea Perlman), who quite cruelly ignore her. As she grows older, she begins to discover that she has telekinetic powers. Not until a teacher shows her kindness for the first time does she realize that she can use those powers to do something about her sufferings and help her friends as well. Villains from the awful Miss Trunchbull (Pam Ferris), headmistress of her miserable school Crunchem Hall, to her parents and older brother begin to feel her ire. Look for Paul Reubens (aka Pee Wee Herman) in a small part as an FBI agent investigating Matilda's shady father. ~ Clarke Fountain, All Movie Guide
