What's this about NRL dying?

I've heard a lot of things about the NRL going away on yahoo answers and i've just look on google and seen this

"The NRL dying would be the best thing to happen for RL. Get rid of News Corp, and start again. Keep the strongest clubs, and you can cut some of the fat in ..."

Can someone tell me what is going on and why so many people are talking about. I've been defending the NRL on answers about this but after reading this I need more info.

  1. because afl is for urine fetish

  2. Seriously, who cares what AFL are doing with their planning...it is AFL, not Rugby League, a different game, a different philosophy and a different breed of supporter. The future planning of Rugby League should reflect these covenants rather than trying to follow something that simply doesn't apply. At least we don't have major sponsors breaking contract due to our players indescresions

I don't think it is dying, but I do think that the supporters need to rally together and show support for their teams...even Rabbitohs...lol. (just kidding, no offensive emails please.) Everything will work itself out in the end...there is such a thing as Junior Leagues, so there will always be new talent coming up to take the place of defectors.

Hey, AFL players...how many of your players are poached by international teams simply because the sport is so big, and our skills are transferrable between codes?! While it is a problem for our code, at least we know our players are a valuable commodity around the world....unlike your players who are just wanted for assault! (am quite happy to field abusive emails on that one..I deserve it! lol)

  3. Hope so, that will mean no more of the pathetic replays on TV news.

    AUSSIE RULES FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. The NRL should take a look at how the AFL operate, they are left for dead when it comes to promotion and future planning of the game, soon the AFL will have 2 new teams , gold coast and one in the heartland of RL, west sydney  The NRL will never die but if they don't get there act together they will fall further behind the AFL as Australias' premier sporting code

EDIT. Nat, that is a typical NRL response, you should be very concerned by the AFL's growth,I know the auskick programme is up and running in NSW and QLD, I live in Melbourne and the NRL have got nothing for young rugby league wannabes, instead of skiting about how globally accepted your players are, I might suggest you find ways of keeping them in this country!!!!  The AFL lead the pack in Sports administration in this country, Gallop could do a lot worse than to look at there blueprint for sucsess
