  1. Yes it was, it went something like, I'm miserable right, right will I got a right to be. and so on. It was a little pill called life, that he had, and after he took one he felt better so he took 2 more and then he was high on life. This was on the radio 1978 - 1983 in Cincinnati on WEBN. I do not know the dates it was on in any other city. I hope this helps you.

    As to the public announcement, No it was a poke fun at the perception by older people of the younger people and the wide spread use of pot and being high.

    As to the origin of the term; That started long ago.
