What's this green dot?

When my dad takes stills on his camcorder, a green dot appears in the same spot on each photo. What could this be? The camera is new.

  1. something's wrong with the camera.

    the light image has to be separated into the primary colors for saving to disk, something's wrong with the filtering system.
