  1. Art museums, strolling along the avenues, nightclubbing til 4AM, Some of the best restaurants in Spain, it all depends on your likes and dislikes.  Be prepared Madrid is a thriving metropolis, and has the good and bad places.

  2. I don't love Madrid, but there are some worthwhile places--art museums being the most worthy.  Prado is, of course, a must-see, but definitely don't miss out on the Reina Sofia nearby.  It houses Picasso's "La Guernica" and is truly magnificent.  Watch out for the packs of school children though!

Kapital is a seven-story disco that is quite an experience.  It's expensive (make sure to use your entry ticket for your free drink or you'll end up paying $15 for a drink like I did), but definitely something I had never seen before.  And for goodness sakes, WEAR LEATHER SHOES and dress nicely!  This is a mistake SO many Americans make--their clubs are dressy.

If you want to get out of Madrid, go to the old capital, Toledo--only about 45 minutes by train and more of *real* Spain.

  3. all of those things are good things to do, its a huge city, also, you can catch some bullfights in the summer
