  1. University is quite different from high school.

Education wise - in high school you are just given information and are expected to memorize it.  In university that happens too but often the material is presented to the class for discussion.  Rather than just accepting information at face value you talk through and analyze the information.  In university you are also expected to do a lot of research yourself instead of just having all the information given to you.  Also, in high school your teachers may ride you to get your assignments done, but in university if you don't do the work no one is going to get on your case about it.  You have to be mature and be disciplined or else you'll probably fail the class.

Socially - I found that people in university are WAY more accepting of others.  Sure you'll still have people you like more than others, but people are a lot more tolerant and respectful towards those people that they don't particularly like.  You still have cliques of sorts - people from each major tend to hang out together as those are the people they spend the most time with, or people who live in the residence may all hang out - but new groups of friends tend to be a lot more diverse than in high school.
