I don't even know how many questions I've read on y!a asked by twelve year olds asking about s*x and a bunch of other things....I don't know about you but when I was twelve I sure as h**l wasn't worried about looking s**y and having s*x of any kind....

It's sad that these parents don't monitor their children on the computer.

Agree? Disagree?

  1. Agree. I honestly think its just the new generation and technology and pressure and everything - makeup, boys, CAMERAS, MYSPACE,............just sldkfjsdlkfsdlkfds >:[

  2. Its our own fault and most of us parents fail to see some vivid yet unitentional way we socialize our children.

Our culture is littered with sexuality.  Its appealing to the consumer so it sells, its compelling to watch so we view, its imaginative so we listen.  The magazinges, newspapers, tv, movies, radio...even childrens toys like Barbie/Bratz understand that s*x sells - and it does.

But whos fault is it?  Thats the tricky question.  As parents, we want whats best for our children and we expect them to have a likeness of morals as us.  We cant shelter them from this trend, as hard as we try they will eventually go off with friends and see/hear things we try hard to keep away from them.  They see it at the grocery store while waiting in line.

The message is clear, how s**y you are determines your status in society.  And most girls, especially, have learned this at a very young age.

I say, support the schools when it comes to handing out condoms!  If these children want to do this, they will - with or without protection.  So we need to go a step beyond our comfort zone and at least protect them.  Studies show that this DOES NOT encourage sexual activity, but instead deflates the intrigue around s*x - because it is no longer deviant.  Adolescents are, by nature, deviant.  Its all part of the process of becoming a responsible adult.

  3. I completely agree.  It's a sign of the times really.  I mean, I didn't have daily access to a computer when I was twelve or the privacy to be talking or even thinking about such things.  I think the internet has somewhat stolen our innocence, which could be good or bad, who knows.

  4. Girls are being brainwashed by these trashy w***e stars........They are their role models and they suck!  Girls are being herded as sheep as young as 10 to become hot little S****y trash .......what happened to make believe and barbies?!

  5. AGREE!

I'm only 14, and I've found that kids ways have changed just since I was 12! NOBODY wanted to know about s*x and such when I was that age. The world is so.. WRONG to me, in a few years I actually hope people look back and think of this as the era of s****s, just so the world can get over the phase and concentrate on more important things like the newest celebrity baby. I really wish we could all go back to the time where the world didn't depend on their I-Pod touch's and flatscreen tv's.

    Way off topic, but yeah..

  6. I'm pretty much going to sum up what people have said here. The internet (which can help you and at the same time harm you) has changed the world and the media has played a huge role in this. It's because of seeing celebs get preg at a young age (e.g. Jamie) they think the birds and bees are alluring. When I was 12 (which was like 3 years ago) I thought it was gross.

Some parents do monitor their kids but everytime they come, the kids end up minimizing the window or something like that.

Hold on things don't add up. Aren't you meant to be at least 13 to be able to participate in Y!A? How did these preteens get here?

  7. why does it matter?

whether or not they talk about it on y!a, there gonna talk about it in real life.

at least this way, they can get advice from older, more experienced people instead of there other 12 year old freinds.

becuase we all know what they would say.

lmao and buddy dont kid youself.

    they know about s*x.

i had s*x ed in grade 4.. so i would have been 9?

    so yeah, i disagree.

THIS is the reason why so many 12 year olds are pregnant.

    very naive adults.

  8. Probably 95% of them are trolls but still it is sad. When I was 12 which was only 3 and half months ago, the last thing I wanted to think about was s*x. I was still having fun with my friends. It is sad. My parents don't monitor me on the computer but I'm a good kid. They know I wouldn't do anything like that.

  9. I agree, but I also know that when I was twelve, I did NOT have access to millions of other twelve year olds via the internet.  I probably would have been worse when I was 12 if I had the internet.  As it was, I had a secret box of Playboy's from the 1970's that I found in my dad's closet.  LOL.

The internet has really revolutionized bad stuff like underage s*x, p**n, drug traficking, etc.

  10. I agree this generation is maturing too fast. They have a long time to consider all of that stuff.

  11. think of it this way: it's coming of age. yes they are doing it a lot earlier than alot of us did. but i find it better that they ask a billizion question than test it themselves. i talk to alot of 11,12, and 13 year olds as a teen peer consuelor and trust me its not to be having s*x or nothing its just curiousity. i believe that if we spent less time criticizing and talking and helping it could and will go along way.

  12. i agree with you.. teenagers now are really different.. they are looking for something more adventurous and wild.. but i think, parents do play also a major part on what they are now.. parents must be aware of thiier childs behaviour. and they must guide their children in the right way.

  13. I agree too coz m also 12... I am like one of the popular ppl at school and many bunch of my friends talk bout it but i m seriously disagree with them

  14. First of all, not ALL of them are. Don't stereotype please.

Not all of us 12 year olds are running around getting pregnant.

I agree, that SOME are S****y and doing that, and what type of parents they have.

    kick'nitintheclouds

I read those types of books..but I didn't know they had that stuff in it.

    So just chill.

  15. I agree. Everyone has mentioned the internet and technology and I think that's a big part of it. But I think another issue is that kids are physically maturing at an earlier age than they used to. Puberty is coming sooner and along with that, reproductive urges. So, I think it's a combination of social and physical causes.

  16. I think its good that they do this because some children nowadays dont have people to go to and talk to so yahoo gives them a sence of protection and guidence.Alot of children nowadays are very much under pure pressure with boys girls drugs violence and many more. It's true 12 year olds shouldnt be thinking this of there age but if they do at least there getting guidence from SOMEONE.

  17. There is peer pressure, and I think that asking about it can put them at ease.

  18. when i was 12 i was too busy having fun with friend from school lol.... but i agree there way too young to be asking about it.... there nothin wrong with educating them but parents should monitor what they do in the computer

  19. Hmmm... The parents can't be on their kids heel 24/7. So i wouldn't say it's the parents fault. Maybe there should be more eduation on the topic in school.

  20. Its crazy! I didnt even have my first kiss till 14! And im 20 so this has been a new thing over the las few years. Its gross.

  21. totally agree. i don't know why though! probably media. its completely disturbing. and disgusting. abercrombie has these little bikinis. the victorias secret models on huge posters wearing nothing but a little thong. Girls going in there and buying thongs. (nothing against VS. i bought body spray there when i was 12 too). makeup!!! teenagers are a big influence. when i was a girl everyone wanted to be a teen. when we played house we always argued over it (not me i was the dog lol)

yeah lip gloss and ripped mini skirts are the new barbie princess castle.

btw, "you suck"? why, i'm offended.

  22. I agree.

Also the media plays a big part in this.

    s*x is everywhere!

Advertisements even cartoons like the simspons.

    Very sad. Very very sad.

  23. Agree. Report them. Policy states you have to be at least 13 to answer or post. You aren't being hateful, your keeping kids safe my friend.

  24. Agree.

  25. agree completey

  26. agree but the thing is. is that  children these days are somehow finding out about s*x and stuff earlier and earlier. evetually your going to be hearing a six year old wondering if her pants make her look s**y for the boys at school lol

  27. I hear you. My sister's tweleve and all she ever does is read teenge romance novels about the birds and the bees. It's pissing me off...when I was tweleve, I was memorizing the periodic tables...not thinking about who I'm going to bang.

  28. 12 yr olds sudnt hv s*x.

but parents dnt need 2 monitor computers.

they just keep an eye on their kids.

  29. In a way eys. In a way i would love for my child to be able to ask all those questions that they were too shy to ask and got real answers even if they are mean but atleast they wouldnt think i am just out to get them by saying no to s*x. I dont think a 12 year old should be thinking about s*x or anything like that but atleast they can ask about it on here and we can yell at them in a way and tell them they are too you.

  30. Well the media glamourizes s*x. You can't watch a tv show, even some kids shows do this, without seeing or hearing some kind of reference to s*x. It's like a chain. One kid watches something about s*x on tv >> She tells her friends about it >> Her friends tell their friends about it >> They all end up talking about it eventually and it'll become something of their interest.

  31. disagree, as long as a 12 years old boy know how to use their p***s and not get everyone pregnant then it's fine. And looking s**y/looking good at young age is nothing wrong.

And if they didn't ask us and they use their p***s without knowing wat it is, wouldn't that be worst.
