What's up with Heath Ledger's family not including Matilda in the will?

Question

So, after reading that touching blog about Johnny Depp, Jude Law, and Colin Farell giving their salaries from Ledger's last 'in progress' movie to Matilda. The thing is, they did so after finding out the will still wasn't updated to include her. This definitely leaves me with the impression that Ledger's dad, and his family in general, are disgustingly greedy individuals who refuse to consider the future of their own flesh and blood. Thoughts, anyone?

they just didnt update it yet. no one thought he was going to die so soon... they prolly thought they would have time to update it later.

a person's family has no right to update a person's will after they have died. matilda's grandfather couldn't have update the will because it's NOT HIS WILL but heath's. where did you hear that someone can change a dead person's will? they CAN'T, in fact it's illegal to do so. no one can change a will except the person's who will it is. since heath wasn't planning on dying so young, he don't get the chance to update the will. again a family member can NOT update some body's else will. and just because she not in the will doesn't mean the family wouldn't give her any money. also she only like 2 or 3 years old, so even if she was left something an adult would be left in control of it until she was of age.

people need to get off there back, it's not there fault the will wasn't updated. also it's not the grandparents responsibly to take care of matilda, it's her mother's, who still alive and has money.

His dad can't change it now that Heath is no longer living

so since the last time it was updated was before Matilda was born, there's nothing that can be done about it

that's why Depp, Law, and Farell gave money

The Ledger family isn't greedy at all, just not very good at updating things

A family has no control over a dead person's will.  Only the person themselves can make a valid will, while they are alive, of course.  If she wasn't in it, it's only because Heath left her out.

It is kinda irresponable on his part to not have had his finances in line .but you never really think you are going to die but it is up to his family to make the right descion and I don think they have done that . I am sure he had morre then enough money to go around and for the little girl to not receive anything it is a crock of bull..

Dj Danger: she wasn't saying Heath was the ignorant one she was talking about the family, and yes I know isn't that awful?? Because even though the will wasn't updated, it doesn't mean that the grandfather couldn't give matilda any of the money once claiming his share for example. Yes I find that very disturbing and sad, and boy was I glad to read about what those three actors did, it made my day.
