What's up with little house on the prairie?

I just finished little house on the prairie, and they just moved, that's it.I think it was a really weird ending and that maybe some pages were missing from my book. Does anyone know if it was supposed to end like this. I would really appreciate your help.

I was also disappointed with the ending , I guess the author just ran out of ideas.
