What's up with mccain's ad with paris hilton & brittany spears?

has anyone seen the campaign ad with paris hilton and brittany spears, comparing those two celebrities to Obama. First off, if Obama is a celebrity, and America sure loves their celebrities, then that is complementing Obama for his openness to the country. Secondly, both celebrities, Brittany and Paris, are going through tough times such as Rehab, jail, and being away from kids. Plus, the Hiltons are a strong contributer to the McCain campaign, so that just bashes them. Thirdly, the ad made no sense because it really did not have any point to it and that was a whole amount of money wasted on an ad. Haven't you noticed that all that McCain does is attack Obama with negative comments and Obama rarely responds. Is that the kind of president we want, someone who acts like a five-year old always trying to point at other's fault or just making fun; soon enough if he becomes president and the country is in danger, he will point at us and blame us for choosing him as president. I just wanted to know anybody's opinion on this ad. As you can see, I clearly stated mines!

  1. The ad is saying that what we know about Obama is that he is popular and is all over the media on a daily basis, but is he ready to lead the country?

You're reading too much into the ad.  And I guess Obama (or his supporters, at least) is redefining negative campaigning, because he's often pointing out concerns about McCain or reasons why McCain wouldn't be a good choice for president.  That's focusing on negatives which is exactly what negative campaigning is.  Both sides always do it.

  2. McCain must be trying to appeal to the scumbags in his constituency. Only scumbags would respond to such an ad. I haven't seen the ad. Will keep an eye out for it. BTW, I'm not surprised that McCain't can stoop so low. Republicans are very adept at maintaining deniability.

  3. That was his way of comparing Obama to a celebrity. It was an attempt to make Obama look bad. It didn't work; it just made McCain look desperate.

  4. I think his ad was very purposeful. He was trying to convey that Obama has too much "star power", which he does. I think that a lot of his fans are attracted to him for more of his celebrity- like qualities (good looks, charm, charisma), rather than his leadership qualities.

  5. I kind of wish he'd picked Paris as VP.
