Question:

What's up with series sponsorship in NASCAR?

OK, so, now that Sprint/NEXTEL is the sponsor of NASCAR's main series, cellular communications companies are pretty much shut out of sponsoring cars. Is the same true with insurance companies in the Nationwide series? I ask this because several drivers have insurance companies as primary sponsors at least part-time. Is NASCAR working to phase this out, or is it a double standard?

  1. idk

  2. No other cell companies can sponsor a car in the Cup Series except for the ones who were grandfathered in. They'll probably  all be gone at the end of this year anyway.

Nationwide has the same hold over that series. No new insurance companies can sponsor a team there.

It's been like this ever since Winston first sponsored the series.

  3. I've gone through the similiar thing -- still a little bit painful, here is the resource help me out.http://car-insurance.online-helpers.info...

  4. in both cases, any team that had the sponsor before the series was taken over is usually grandfathered in.  nothing has been said about mike wallace having to give up geico as a sponsor. cingular and alltel were grandfathered in as well - it's when they change to "other competing companies" because of buyouts that problems arise.  sprint/nextel pays a LOT of money and gets some perks for that - but not enough to knock out existing sponsors.  same with nationwide.
