What's up with some harajuku girls holding "free hug" signes?

what do harajuku boys do?

I've never seen girls doing this out there, but I've seen creepy looking dudes walking around outside the station with free hug signs. Never seen anybody take them up on the offer.

they look scary enough, with all those heavy makeups and they're thinking of giving free hugs. creepy. you'll never know what might happen next. ahaha. xD

i used to see them in harajuku on the weekend. shibuya too.

and like someone said it's more often guys.

I have seen them in Japan and also San Francisco and Hawaii. This is not just Japan it is a global thing. It started in Australia in 2006 from a music video actually and quickly expanded. You can see girls with these signs in Large cities in various places in the world.

Some people hug them others take their photo's and some ignore them like they don't exist.

It seldom happens. Some of them are just fake and only for special occasion. Don't misunderstand easily.
