What's up with the Kawasaki Vulcan 900C rear fender?

What does it have such a big gap? I'm looking at mid-sized cruisers. I like the Sportster the best, but I'm open to metrics. The 900 custom really caught my eye. But that gap looks weird! Everything else looks beautiful! Anyone else feel this way? Pic: http://cdn-7.psndealer.com/e2/dealersite/images/NewVehicles/2007_Vulcan900Custom_Blue.jpg

Seems like most of the metrics have some small feature that doesn't look quite right to me. Harleys look the best (although I can appreciate the smoothness, reliability, and price of metrics - that's why I'm looking at them).

  1. The rear suspension allows the rear wheel to travel that much.

Do you want a bike that runs smooth and rides comfortably?

Or do you want something that looks nice, so you can park in your drive way and stare at it all day?

Think about it, you can't see that gap while you're riding the bike.

  2. lower it , and get a bigger tire !

  3. You're biased,  go ahead and overspend the money on a Harley.

  4. you can allways lower it.
