What's up with the future of YMU To Go?

Question

I bought an MP3 player this fall and was looking forward to upgrading from YMU to YMU To Go. Now that I have the money available to do it, they have discontinued this service --- at least to the point of not offering any new clients.

What the heck? Am I going to have to move all of my business (and playlists and songs and ratings...)over to Rhapsody or Napster, or is Yahoo going to re-instate this option?

I can't find an official statement about YMU To Go anywhere!

My understanding is that Yahoo Music to Go is being offered but only for Sansa Connect devices (both new and existing).

So far as I'm aware, there has been no official statement on how long this support will continue. I believe that narrowing down the list of supported devices so drastically signals that a change of some type is coming. I would not personally be surprised if they discontinued the service in the future.
