Question:

What's up with the wet weather?

I just read an article and I started wondering... How come some riders are so good when it's rainy (like West) and then when it's dry they... pretty much ride like it's their first year?

And I'm not talking about the bike, I know that it has a lot to do with it but for example at the tests, yesterday, only 3 riders went out, and there was only one from MotoGP, the the other two were from 250cc. I just don't get it...

  1. Hi A.nik,

I think Wiggy's got it - it seems to be a matter of mind set, and if you like to be slipping and sliding around.

The first places I rode as a teenager were always off road on scramblers, so  I think there is a load of fun to be had by getting sideways (and muddy!)

So many of the racers now have been riding since they were in utero I suppose some must like to slither about!

  2. Its all feeling.

A mate of mine tells me he see`s the rain / wet track as he does the dry. Me, I normally pull off the track or stop !!!

Riders with dirt background are normally good in the wet, but with enough practice everyone can become fast.

  3. Well it depends a lot on their tyres. Some tyres, specially made for wet tracks go more smoothly when it's wet than the standart ones go on a dry track.
