In the Philippines, I like San Miguel Beer and Red Horse Beer. In Thailand, I like Singha and LEO Beer.

My favorite beer is very much dependent on time and place.  

Stout: The greatest beer for fall.  I personally enjoy Kalamazoo Bells stout as my standard go-to stout.  But there are a lot of other great versions of this style.

Imperial Stout: My favorite winter beer and probably my favorite overall style.  My favorite interpretations are Bells Expedition, North Coast Rasputin, and Alesmith Speedway.

German Wheat: The best summer beer for sitting around a table, sweating, on a 90 degree day.  Franzinkaner or Paulaner probably my favorite.

Indian Pale Ale: a year round wonderful brew that hits the hop bite when it occurs.  Favorites include: Bells 2 Hearted, Brooklyn IPA, Stone IPA, and Dogfish Head 60 or 90 minute IPA.

Lambic: Another great summer beer.  I like anything by Cantillon.  But, if I am trying to impress a lady, the LIndeman fruit lambics are very delicious.

Barleywine: the best beer for taking off the chill.  Sometimes in the fall, but most appropriate during the deathly midwestern winters.  Love Sierra Nevada Bigfoot.  Bells Third Coast ale (really a different style but down the same lines) and Stone Guardian.

Belgian Trippel: my favorite spring beer.  I really like the Unibroue La Fin du Monde.  But there are a number of great interpretations of this style.

American Lager: my favorite "lawnmower beer".  It's hot, and you want to drink a lot.  Labatts Blue LIght is my favorite.  But, h**l, it's all p**s.  Whatever your poison...

Miscellaneous: porter (Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald or Sierra Nevada), bitter (anything by Fullers but probably 1845), pale ale (Sierra Nevada or Stone), belgian strong (St. Bernardus ABT12), saison (anything by Fantome), wit (Hoegaarden)...

Man, I could keep going.  Never look for the perfect beer.  Just look for the best beer for the moment...
