Why do some men hate women? And why do some women hate men? Past experience? Childhood?

There's a lot of Trolls or fairly nasty people on here today. I don't think a bad experience could cover that - lots of people have bad experiences and don't post things like that. I'm guessing either cognitive dissonance - they know they're wrong but want to convince themselves otherwise, or extreme boredom and lack of social skills - nothing else to do. Or a sudden bout of bad weather keeping them all stuck inside with their computers. Either way, most of them are so unsubtle right now it's just dull and not even mildly amusing anymore.

Yahoo needs to start controlling the troll population, period. I see people being hateful and abusive towards women, blacks, g**s, Jews...pretty much anyone other than....WHITE MALES.

These privileged individuals then cry victimization and "double standards" for people who say they feel hated against. I don't post often in this section because it is so *bleeped* up and counter-productive. I do skim through it usually when I log in, and I can't remember seeing ANY posts where women were attacking men out of pure hatred or phrasing their complaints abusively with sarcasm and "humor" that makes 13 year olds look like pillars of maturity. Like right now the women responding to you are still being more polite and rational than the trolls, and they have a legitimate concrete reason to be angry.

And I have never met one of these mythical "man-haters". Neither has anyone else I know. I actually started asking around. The most rabidly "feminist" woman at my past college still had male friends, and she thought p**n should be banned. So she was pretty extreme, but she would debate with people civilly and educatedly about her views.

Reasons men are "discriminated against" I see cited in this place always seem to involve divorce. how women are given special treatment and men have to give them money etc. etc. So it sounds like we have a lot of divorced men here who are bitter and want to rant.

Also what I REALLY wonder is: are they employed? I see the same trolls on here everyday at all times of the day. I'm only on the internet so much lately because I've been sick, I'm on break from college and can't find a decent paying job yet for the summer. Most chronic posters in other sections seem to be kids off from high school, stay at home mums, those sort of people. I've never gotten away with as much internet time while at a job as these people would seem to....

But I think misogyny is just still very ingrained in our culture, and it's considered acceptable in a lot of places, just like hatred of homosexuals. I hear men (not my boyfriend or male friends) talk about women like they are fundamentally inferior all the time. They don't accept that feminism is just about wanting equal rights--it has to mean that women want to rule the world and enslave men. The same fear was expressed with the Civil Rights movement. People thought African Americans would bring down their society if given rights, and that that was JUST what they were plotting, oh yes. Jewish friends of mine get mocked for having distinctive noses, and you can find sites everywhere about the "Zionist conspiracy." What conspiracy? To try not to be mass murdered again?

But no, this long oppressed group is actually taking away YOUR (white male) rights and ruling the world in secrecy.
