What's with Blu-ray?

Why are so many people into blu-ray disks? Is it really just because it has better quality video? What's so special about them?

It normally has a game attached to it.....

People love multi-use devices and PS3 fits their wants and desires....

And THEN that bumps up Blu-Ray sales.

Sony was smart this time around...they really pushed Blu Ray to the studios and rental places....

Go to a CE retailer and get a couple of demos.

Its purely subjective. You be the judge.

Partly because the picture and audio are potentially better than DVD (If you can take advantage of it and are willing to pay the premium prices for hardware and disks). But largely because marketing creates a desire for the latest new thing ... and people want to keep up with the Jones.

My advice: Get a demo, assess costs and benefits and if it's for you go for it. But if you are like me, you may find DVD is plenty good enough in light of the much higher prices for Blu-ray. That may change with time, but at this point I, personally, don't think Blu-ray is worth the premium.

But then I like to decide for myself. Some people believe what they are told by advertisers!

If you have ever seen or heard a movie on blu-ray, you would know.  the picture and audio is stunning.  much better than DVD.
