What's with Brett Farve "changing his mind?"

I don't follow football too closely, but didn't he just retire, and now he has changed his mind? Is this genuine or is there some other reason? Is this kind of thing common in sports figures? Thanks

  1. I think the Packers forced his retirement as evidenced by their $20M stay retired offer he got last week.  They want a new QB, a new generation but at the same time they are blindly trying to throw away a guy that was legitimately a top 5 QB last year!  If he's good enough to beat ya, he's good enough to start on your team is what I think the Packers should go by!

  2. i agree with Jim B

  3. brett favre just needs 2 let it go, d**n he is selfish and only thinkin bout himself and nobody else. he made the packers  look bad by what he is doin to them. he's 38yrs old and he acts like he dont got nothin better to do than play football when he should be takin care of his family but he wants 2 put  his health in danger by playin football and the only pple who want him back are packer fans and nobody else if i was aaron roggers i would demand a trade.

  4. seriously lets drop this Brett Favre BS...I'm tired of always hearing about him on Sportscenter and what not. Favre needs to see a shrink...end of story.

  5. If this was Brett's first time flip flopping ok but every season its the same old mess. Brett is not the person I use to respect he is a liar selfish thrives on the limelight and cares about no one but himself. I feel sorry for Rodgers this should have been the most happiest and important time of his life. Now he has to compete with Brett for the job Brett did not want anymore and it was given to him. It is so unfair to this kid how does he compete against Brett as long as Brett has played. Where is the fairness in all of this. I think with this lie Brett has gone to far and this is the one he will pay the piper for. I also blame the Packer organization they promised this rookie the job let Brett go where ever he wants to go, let someone other team have this headache. But have some integrity and truthfulness and make your word mean something. Too h**l with Brett Farve because he is going to receive what he deserves..

  6. ya but if you want it straight the packers offered him two million in march when he was forced into retiement from the packers but what team would have a dam good no. 1&2 qb to go to the super bowl last year theyv made it to the nfc championship game with a bunch of no names just like another team i no in the afc game who nos maybe this will put a fire back in the eyes of favre

  7. I think with Brett-Its genuine. He loves to compete.I wish though he wouldnt come back.I just dont think theres much left in the tank. The playoff loss to the Giants he just didnt look like he cared.Yea-it was bitter cold but theres more where that came from. And besides-Why play for someone else now?Retire a Packer already!

  8. i think it was just the emotions of the season was the the reason he retired and now he realizes he wants to play.
