Personally I think it's a hint that the U.S. government shouldn't spend 100's of billions of dollars on killing innocent Iraqis, and maybe focus on domestic issues like new energy sources. Just a subtle hint from the universe.

  1. Hardly a hint, but when you've got a coastline that gets hit regularly by hurricanes it's surely common sense to build better flood defences or, come to that, just get the f*ck out of the area that used to be floodplains. Because the water doesn't give a toss where you've built your city. That's why New Orleans got flooded last time, and it's why it's being evacuated this time.

The US spends a ridiculous amount of money on it's military. More per head of population than ANY other nation in the world. Cutting that budget by five percent to safeguard it's own people in vulnerable areas would be utter common sense to me, and a five percent cut would hardly damage the US military.

Now, I'm terribly sorry if any right wing US type thinks that being anti American, but I personally would have said looking after your own people before getting involved in worldwide arguments would be the action of a caring government. Save your own people before you go imposing US style democracy on the 'happy' Middle East.

  2. Yeah, that makes sense. NOT. Why don't you actually try to understand an issue before being a typical liberal fool and just spouting off nonsense.

  3. The gulf coast has many, many oil wells and refineries.  Most of them are built to sustain category 5 hurricanes.

  4. Hey universe,  good hint and I agree.

I guess they are still trying to keep us all happy with our gas guzzlers.  I hope Gustav doesn't make me unhappy.  Yes, they should get out of Iraq and get back here and focus on alternate sources of energy.  Maybe they will soon with Barack in there.  We can only hope.
