When I go to "My Computer" and click my "C: Drive", there are a bunch of text files that are called stuff like "LOGE", "LOG1D", and "LOG1B". What are they and are they safe to delete?

  1. I searched for these log files on yahoo and google..

log1b is probably a Oracle Log File, if you are a dba or dbp you may be using oracle..

log1d seems to be a simple file and so does loge

you should also try  scanning your pc with anti virus

  2. Yes and no, that is an indication of one of two things

    A) You have a software on your computer that is doing its job, and it is just recording what it is doing, and most applications run their external items off of text files.

    B) They are virus files, less possible, and that they are containing scripting code in the text files making them disguised as important files. Either way, I would keep them, because if it is a virus/spyware they will be cleaned out the next time you use some antivirus software to hit them, and if they are important, then something screwy will be happening the next time you try to use something.
