Question:

What's with our Neighbour?

He is very secretive about where he is from.

He won't let anyone in his flat. Recently he had a suspected heart attack and dragged himself outside before calling ambulance.

He told us that he is barred from 2 local shops. We have since found out that this is not true. BTW both these shops are within 500 yards of local schools.

He is visited weekly by his 'niece' yet we do know he is an only child. She is the only person we have ever seen actually go in his flat.

He has lived in our area for about 5 years yet no-one knows anything about him.

Recently one of his bin bags was ripped open by foxes and EVERY piece of paper was shredded, yet he dresses like a tramp-a shredder seems an odd thing for someone like him to have.

Once a week he goes to the local large town by bus. If we are on the same bus going to the same town he will get off the bus and catch a later one.

He has a dog yet won't take it out for a walk after dark. Possible curfew?

I am not a paranoid mother- both my kids are over 18.

What do you think - s*x offender?

  1. does he look anything like gary glitter by any chance...

  2. It does sound rather suspicous. Maybe his Neice is his only relative. He may be a very shy person and a loner. If it makes you feel better to be sure then speak to the police ,but he would have to be seen to be doing something wrong to be charged with anything.

  3. If he has been there for 5 years without any trouble, I think you will be OK. It does sound a bit dodgy but maybe they are just mega paranoid.

  4. Perhaps he is a secret supporter of Gordon Brown!Seriously though!I would definitely get him checked out as one or two things just do not add up!

  5. Do you know his first and last name?

If I were you  I would deifnitely look him up on your local clerk of courts site or call the police station and ask for the s*x offended site in your area and look him up.

    Sounds weird...

  6. you have to know if he is a s*x offender, isnt it necessary to publish that?  I would be checking it out

  7. Maybe he's just old, crabby and lonely.

People like this get lonely, yet seem annoyed at the world.

He could have been through alot of hardship, so I don't think you should drag up stuff like that about him.

But if you feel that you really must, there are websites, where you can type in your area code, and they will show you a map of where you live, and show you who has commited what crime in the houses around you.

  8. What do you want from me?!?!?!? Leave me alone for god sakes. haven't you got anything else to do apart from stalking me!!!!!!!

  9. so your being nosy with a neighbor who clearly wants privacy

since when was it a crime to not have guest or walk your  dogs at night

seems to me like you need to stop being a busybody and leave him alone hes committing no crimes hes entitled to his privacy

  10. He is probably a very private person and does not like contact with other people. Just let him get on with his quiet life.

  11. Perhaps maybe he is a loner,is there a law against keeping oneself to ones self,if there is there are a lot of people breaking the law

  12. i think u should mind your own business............hes lived there for 5 years without any trouble, just because he doesnt fit into your norms of behaviour doesnt make him a s*x offender........he probably has mental health issues and chooses to live avoiding society....leave him alone

  13. Terrorist

  14. Sounds like a nutter, but that doesn't mean he's dangerous. I don't know how things like this work in the UK, but there might be a way to check if he's a s*x offender.

  15. s*x offenders are often normal looking people. Your neighbour sounds strange though.

  16. Hmmm, sounds a bit suss. You could be completely wrong, but the fact that a young girl goes into his house every week is extremely worrying. I think you should go to your local police station and have a quiet word. if he is a registered offender, then he should be having no contact with children and you could be stopping terrible things from happening to her
