It's a little square shape on the rear bumper, usually near the exhaust on the BMWs. Anyone know what it is and why it's there?

  1. Its the tow eye cover. If you remove it and take a look there is a thread inside. In your tool kit there should be a large bolt with an "eye" at the end. s***w it in the hole and you can be towed. One on the front as well.

  2. It's either for towing or jacking up your car. your car should have a tool kit, and inside is a tool to remove the square. I wasn't sure what they were either at first!

My 3 series has the squares on the side to jack up the car to fix a flat tire, and my m5 has some on the back to tow the vehicle.

  3. Those cars have the James Bond package they do 5 things

    1. Missiles

    2. flame throwers

    3. pop out tire popping things

    4. MAchine guns

    5. Lazer guns..
