Question:

What's with the speaker volume?

A while ago, I unplugged my speakers to bring them to my grandmother's house. I made sure I had every cord with me, and made sure that everything was plugged in where it had to be. But when I plugged it in, I barely heard anything. I can hear the music, but it's low. Even with it maxed, it stayed the same volume. I brought them home and plugged it all back, but it's the same. I checked the speakers to see if there were any other ports that needed to be plugged in, but there were none. Everything's where it should be. It worked fine until I unplugged it the first time. What's wrong?

The speakers are harman/kardon, if that helps for anything.

  1. There may be an A/B switch for different sets of speakers.

Alternatively, a monitor switch which bypasses the speakers entirely!

The speakers also have an OHM rating, typically 4 or 8, often there will not be enough power to drive decent speakers through a lower quality amplifier.
