  1. Yeah it sounds like the beginning of puberty. Have a lot of patience with her. It's such a hard change so be understanding.

  2. MIne is now ten and has changed so much and the doctor said it was puberty.  She did bleed once last summer when she was nine but could be another year or so before she starts again.  She was and early riser forever now she sleeps every chance she gets.  Energy what is that and I have to repeat everything many times. It drives me crazy.  But if you would feel better take her to the doctor and let them check her out it can not hurt anything.

  3. It sounds a bit like depression.

  4. i don't know. she might have a disease or something so go to the doctor with her if you know her

  5. Puberty doesn't affect hearing or mental ability. This is a time when "parent knows best" definitely applies. If you think something is wrong, even if you can't quite put your finger on any one thing, take her to the doctor.

  6. It COULD be puberty approaching which would def. make a child more sluggish (I know it did for me)  However, those can be symptoms of disease.  Just go to the doc for a simple blood test!

  7. maybe a doctor is who you should be asking

  8. Please get her to a doctor, do not let it go. 9-10 is still too young for puberty. Please do not guess, seek out professional intervention.

  9. Just eats and sleeps?

Try asking the doctor about a possible thyroid problem.  When I was 11, all I did was come home from school, sleep, wake up for dinner, and go right back to sleep.  Mine is an underactive thyroid which is easy to treat.

Other symptoms I had were dry, scaly skin- especially my elbows and knees- and my mom said my eyes seemed a bit bug-eyed.

  10. Pediatrician time..no, this is not normal. Hormones could account for some of it..but there are so many other possible factors..get her a medical evaluation before you jump to the conclusion that it's her hormones.

  11. Take her to a doctor for a complete exam, and explain best as you can what is going on.

  12. Time for the doctor.  Make sure her thyroid is checked.
